so I figured I ought to do a post since I hadn't in a couple or so days.
AR is sleeping, G is checking emails and working on something for her boss (she goes back to work next Monday...), and I am taking a small break before getting back to working on a song in ProTools.
As I mentioned, G goes back to work next Monday so there are a few things we have going on this week. The biggest thing is heading over to the Social Security office and getting Autumn's Soc. Sec. number and stuff. I'm not sure how that exactly works, but we have the stuff we need and the form to submit. Hopefully we get the number (I'm sure the card is mailed) while we're there because I've got our tax return to file. That in itself is a big deal and one that I'd really like to finish sooner than later. (money money money...ain't it funny...) We also have a visit scheduled with our social worker...we're meeting some people Saturday who are getting their referral for their 2nd any day now, and another couple who are adopting their first. It will be fun to get the one couple's daughter from China together with AR. Although Autumn won't be able to like talk and stuff to her...I think she's got some similar personality traits with this girl. :)
And of course the AR update:
Autumn just today was walking around the kitchen and living room on her own. She fell a few times of course, but the one thing she hadn't done before was get up on her own...or at least get up without grabbing something to pull herself up with. Nope...today she discovered how to stand up all on her own. I have to say I had a bit of watery-ness in the eyes while I clapped and cheered her on. It was an amazing thing to watch. The look of happiness and excitement on her face as she stood up and started walking...falling...getting back up...just really made this daddy-o proud and overjoyed. Of course, on the other end of the spectrum...she's really getting more and more assured of herself, and comfortable enough with us, to push things a bit. Doing things or acting like she's going to do something she knows we don't want her to and giving us that little 'grin'. Her and mom have had some fun little moments...battle of wills if you will. Autumn definitely is a "spicy girl" and lets mom know it. Of course mom is a redhead...and we all know the thing about redheads. I try not to laugh when this happens, but it is kind of amusing. Autumn threw her first majour tantrum last night and G let her cry and scream it out. AR finally realised that the tantrum was not going to get her anywhere and stopped. All was right in the world again. Finally...I've got to remember to try and take more photos (and video of her walking). In the meantime, here's a great one from when we were in China.
Back to ProTools...until next time...
