ahhh the weekend.
okay so thursday (the 14th) in the mail we received our appointment letter from the USCIS for our re-fingerprinting. We did that this morning (Saturday) so all I have to do now is make some copies and fax them over to our agency. Now we'll be updated and good for fingerprints.
and hopefully that's all we'll have to have updated...
i have to say though...i'm really not expecting us to be in this next referral group. i would love us to be, don't get me wrong, but i guess i'm just telling myself we're probably not going to be so that if/when we aren't then it's not a big let down. the wife said yesterday..."at this point in the game it doesn't matter if we're in this next group or in the following one next month...a week and a half or 5 more weeks...doesn't matter we're just about there. the only thing that will matter is that waiting one more month costs us money for the I-171H re-do."
and she's absolutely right. we're basically on the front porch and getting ready to knock on the door...
it's funny because today while we were doing our grocery shopping and stuff (at SuperTarget), we talked about how we've seen some great clothes but obviously have refrained from buying anything because we didn't know how old or big she's really going to be...and with referral coming up soon we've let ourselves look but not buy. LOL of course, i said, then once we get our referral...LOOK OUT! there probably won't be anything to keep us from buying some outfits, etc.
we both have been slowly, and when we can, doing stuff at work to get ready for when we leave and are gone for several weeks. we both have people at our workplaces that we need to have know 'what's going on' so that things can run relatively smoothly in our absence. I've been working with my supervisor on a few things so she can decide who's going to handle my accounts and have been talking more and more about the possible 'timeframe' of things with my customers so they'll be ready for when i'm gone. the wife's been doing the same at her work...making sure certain people know what to do, etc etc. it's been quite interesting preparing for the referral and subsequently the trip and time away.
good thing i write stuff down...make 'to do' lists...although i know i'm still going to feel like we're forgetting to do/plan/buy something.
i'm also planning for how to re-do our website for the upcoming referral and then the trip and time at home. I plan on putting photos there of course, but I also wanted to do something to reflect us as a new family and all that instead of "this is T & G waiting it out until referral...". I do have some ideas.... ;)
it funny how since things had slowed way down, our motivation to do somethings waned quite a bit. now that we're ever so close...it feels like we're going to be running around trying to get things accomplished. what's up with that?!
