mischief, thy name is Autumn Rose
well, daddy's trip to California was fun but long. they had stuff scheduled it seemed for every minute of the day and evening right up until the departure from the hotel at 6am Sunday to catch the 8:15am flight back to Denver. daddy was exhausted to say the least, but was very happy to see the family again and to get those extra big tight hugs from Autumn. she didn't go unspoiled of course. daddy and some of us guys walked over to Downtown Disney to spend alittle money on children and spouses. Autumn ended up with a Minnie Mouse visor/cap, plush Nemo and Dory, a magnet of Disneyland, and a fleece hoodie of the Disney princesses which appropriately enough had the word 'Spoiled' emblazeoned beneath said princesses.
that Sunday afternoon, we went down to our neighbourhood Wally World where we had her trampoline shipped to and picked it up. a couple of hours of putting it together ended with about an hour of non-stop bouncing, falling, giggling, squirming, rolling, and bouncing some more.
this weekend we were going to go to the zoo but the weather ended up being cool and windy Saturday and we ended up having a 'family' medical issue which caused us to stay home today as well. Our one dog, Kelsey, the shepard/husky mix, had her right ear flopping over and it seemed to be bothering her. G and Autumn took her to the vet Saturday morning while I went to Home Depot to pick up a few things. I got a call from G stating that the cartilage in her ear had cracked/fractured and broke down causing a rather large hemotoma. They needed to do surgery and did it later that morning. She also had a growth on her neck just back of her lower jaw which we originally thought was just an "old dog" growth. the vet had thought that at one point as well, but upon further investigation after she was sedated, they discovered it wasn't just that. They believed it to be benign but needed to send the mass off to check it out. They removed it before they worked on her ear. Needless to say the poor thing was hurting Saturday evening and they had put an e-collar (a rather huge one) on her to keep her from scratching her neck and/or her ear which had been shaved and full of about a dozen stitches and splints to keep it firm while it healed. We bought an inflatable collar thing which attaches to the dogs everyday collar. it's alot more comfortable and light and Kelsey seems to appreciate the fact we did that for her because she could get around and function more regularly while still being unable to scratch those spots she shouldn't. She'll be working that for at least another month before the vet said she'd consider taking her off the meds and collar. At least she's going to be just fine when all's said and done.
This week looks to be busy so might not have any posts. But, this coming weekend is going to be very fun and I'll definitely have some sharing of words and photos after. :)

Yeah, someone else sporting a trampoline inside their home to help wear the wee one down. Nice to know I'm not the only one out there!! Glad to hear that Kelsey is okay.
