Whew! (I'm finally catching my breath after what seems like a whirlwind week and weekend.)
Okay. So here's to all the Mamas and Grammas out there! Happy Mother's Day. G actually had a very nice day today. Autumn was (mostly) on very good behaviour and was being very silly and goofy. Autumn called her one Gramma (my mother) and wished her happy Gramma's Day while I wished her happy Mother's Day. It was very nice.
Autumn has decided that she really does enjoy bouncing in her trampoline. However, what she Really enjoys more is to have her big ball in there with her so she can either sit on it and bounce until she flies off, or, she'll lay with her back or belly on top of the ball and then lift her legs and arms up so that she rolls off in some direction and crashes down onto the bouncy surface of the trampoline. Needless to say, I have some pics as you can see. (Daddy finally got the flash for his camera he's been wanting along with a flash bracket so now those pics will come out better!)
Yesterday, we met up with our friends and their beautiful little girl at the Butterfly Pavillion. I myself do not like insects in general except for butterflies and spiders. why spiders don't creep my out I don't know. I wasn't looking forward to being around all those bugs, but turns out that there really wasn't much to the insects part of the Pavillion so I just stayed away from those few displays and was good. Autumn at first wasn't being very social and into anything but finally she snapped out of it, started hanging out with Malia and started enjoying everything. She really opened up and had alot of fun with the displays and our friends and ourselves.
Tarantula's are very big spiders typically and several varieties of them are mostly harmless as long as you don't bother them. They'll likely run away from you (or jump up in the air and scare the bejeezus out of you in the process). There's one particular one at the Pavillion that they call Rosie and if you want and when a handler is there, you can have her crawl across your hand. I was the only one that let her do that (and I got a sticker for it..hehe) although Malia almost did with her baba holding her...but then decided it might not be that fun after all. Autumn didn't want anything to do with that either...even when I told her she'd get a sticker afterwards. oh well. her loss. haha
There was one spider dude in the room that had the name 'birdeater' in his 'species' name. that kind is the largest spider. period. And I'm thinking that if your kind gets the name birdeater attached to you...then you're pretty much a bad-ass spider and that's that.
The butterfly area was the coolest (not in temp though as it was balmy, humid, and so not Colorado.) and the most enjoyable by everyone. G and I took quite a few pics in there...and Autumn kept hoping that she could get one to land on her hand or something.
The neatest part was what we found in the gift shop. We've tried to keep an eye out for anything like the cups, keychains, etc that places have that have the boys and girls names on them. Haven't ever seen Autumn anywhere...except the gift shop at the Butterfly Pavillion. G hands me this butterfly necklace that's purple on one side and blue on the other. I told her that was cool but then she told me to look at the name. Sure enough the name on the necklace was Autumn. Ms Autumn wore her necklace all day today and was very proud that she was entrusted to wear somekind of jewelry...especially with her name on it. :)
The weekend was very nice, but short (aren't they all?!). Thanks to our friends for sharing a fun time out with the girlies and we definitely had fun visiting with them again.
enjoy the photos!

Looks like a fun time all around. Happy Mother's Day G.
Great fun! That spider is a baddie. They had a traveling spider thing at the our zoo last year and that sucker was giant.
Love the photos too.
Looks like quite a week!
Hope you had a great Mother's Day.
Was blogsurfing and came across a link to yours - don't know if you remember me back from the RQ days. We received our referral for Megan the same time you got Autumn's. Autumn is such a pretty little girl!
We had soooo much fun with you all ... as usual. The trampoline looks like a total blast.
Your pictures all turned out great.
