so this time it's the interview where our SW sees how everything's gone since the last meeting and we get to submit photos to her. she gets to write up a report and send it along with the photos to the CCAA so they can see how Wan Chun Lan has blossomed into Autumn Rose ChunLan...a very beautiful and adorable, outgoing, very loved, and VERY spicy girl from WanZhou District, ChongQing happily living with her family in Colorado. :)
it is hard to believe it's been 6 months since we returned home with her. and in two months from yesterday she'll turn 2 years old! I'm already trying to get her to respond with "two!" when asked how old she'll be.
speaking of speaking...
she's definitely gained a bit of ground on the vocabulary front. she's learned to say 'thank you!' when she's given something although right now it's more of a "dang you" which in itself makes me chuckle. she just today while we were picking her up at day-care and chatting with her teacher pointed toward the door and said "home!" which caught me off guard a bit so when I asked her if she had just said 'home' she got this big grin on her face and giggled in satisfaction of knowing I understood what she said. she does that when she says something and we repeat it and know what she said. it's soooooooo cute. :) she's picking up a few more words and has on occasion said "no more" and "more wa-er" or "more tea".
of course along with that she's also decided she'd try going downstairs on her own and also reach up and grab stuff off of the counters in the bathroom and kitchen. which kind of scarily means she's grown tall enough to do that. sooo mama and daddy have to start watching out for that and taking care not to leave stuff towards the edges of the counters and tables.
finally for this post, my most favourite (even though i know it's not necessarily good) thing AR has been doing as of late. she started doing this with us a few weeks ago and just recently did it at day-care. when she's done something she shouldn't have done or is about to do something she shouldn't do and we call her on it...she'll tilt her head to one side and smile the biggest cutest smile she has as if to say..."i can't be in trouble...i'm too cute!!!" of course she does this mostly with me more than mama...and she definitely doesn't get away with it, but it's incredibly adorable when she does it and let's face it; the spicy girl definitely knows how to work it already.
