go that way...really fast. if something gets in your way...turn.

if you've ever seen the movie 'Better Off Dead'...well, probably more than just once, you'll know that line. This weekend, and probably over the next couple of days, I think G and I have felt and will feel like we're atop the K12; getting instructions on preparations to leave Thursday morning for China.

We received our finalised itinerary on Friday afternoon. Lots of information...lots to do still before we go. The three days that stick out for us over the course of our trip is Monday the 11th at 2pm (Autumn Gotcha Day), Tuesday the 19th and Wednesday the 20th (Consulate Appointment, receiving Autumn's visa, and taking 'the Oath').

We've re-thought and re-packed a couple of times. We did decide to take the laptop so we can post thoughts and stuff...along with a few photos. Not only have we had lots of our fellow travelers and adoptive families still waiting ask us to take our laptop so we can post to our blog...but family and friends as well. (I didn't know so many people wanted to actually follow along!...I'm very humbled by that.)

So today, Sunday, we're wrapping up the main packing part. Later today I'm going to tidy up and finish getting Autumn's room ready for her arrival. Tuesday is my last day at work before the big trip and time off. Wednesday I plan on cleaning up the house and making sure things that should be up out of reach are and all that stuff...along with making sure everything's packed and ready to go. G has to work Wednesday to finish up some projects and make sure things will run relatively 'smoothly' while she's away.

We look forward to posting during the trip and letting everyone in on what it's like and how it's going. We both have to say we're rather calm and ready to go. Because you know, it really is that simple sometimes in life. Go that way reallllly fast. If something gets in your way...turn. :)

T&G,

You'll love having your laptop in China (we did!), but you may have problems with blogspot. I couldn't access mine until we got to Guangzhou.

Best of luck, safe travels, and heartfelt congratulations!

Thanks for the blog note. You must be so excited and busy getting ready to leave this week already. What a wonderful Christmas present to have her home before the 25th! Safe travels to bring your little cutie home!

Just noticed that both of our girls have a Chinese name of Chun (Spring). We thought the name was so pretty. Have a wonderful Gotcha Day on the 11th! Hope to meet you at CCAI sometime.
