on Smallville's first four seasons, Chloe Sullivan (cousin to Lois Lane) ran the school newspaper 'the Torch'. The one fun thing about her was that she had 'the Wall of Weird' which chronicled all the strange happenings around town...mostly due to those mysterious green meteor rocks and their effects on people.
While this month's recent events weren't affected by kryptonite, it's safe to say they would secure a spot on 'the Wall of Weird'.
One moment there was nothing to be heard...no rumours...nothing really. Then we realised that the referrals were being worked on. Some sources said 8/23/05 was the cut-off...maybe. Then when it all seemed like 8/23 was the date...some sources started saying that some of the 8/24/05 LIDs were matched so that 8/24 must be the cut-off. Today it seemed like 8/24 was good...then there came along 8/28 for a cut-off. the RQ posted that there were more sources pointing towards 8/23 for the cut-off so all those 8/24 LIDs were getting bummed again. Now tonight she says a source is pointing towards 8/26/05 to be the cut-off.
confused yet? yeah. we all are. What's more weird to me is that our agency posted today that they learned that the CCAA was done matching. but that's it. no word on if referrals were sent already or what. just that they had finish. when they finished?...they didn't say that either. so who knows what's going on. Plus...some people still have not received their Travel Announcment while others have had theirs for a bit now.
This definitely has been a weird month. and all we can do here is keep hoping that the phone rings one morning very soon. we're still hoping it happens tomorrow or Friday so we don't have to wait through another weekend.

TG - what happened to the RQ site?? I was away from the computer for an hour and now there's something wrong... did referrals finally arrive and everyone wants to tell her about it and her site crashed?? Where are our referrals??????????? Lucky you, we're happy to know end of NEXT week...

I hope I didn't jinx it by mentioning the no hotel internet access story yesterday. Are you going crazy? Is CCAI returning your calls? have you driven to their office with your tent and some sleeping bags? (And maybe a snow shovel?) ack ack ack. or is that dang dang dang went the trolley...? ;o)

what do you make of Spain getting referrals....I guess this just adds to the %^&* wall of wierd!! GEEESH! :)
hey all, just now getting to reading through everything.
I'm not sure what to make of the 'Spain getting their referrals' thing. Perhaps the agencies there did, but that's as far as they've gotten. No one's been actually notified...i.e. gotten 'the call'. I want to believe this has happened, but then it begs the question of why none of the U.S. agencies have said anything.
I found something out today that leads me to believe that there may be a possibility that tomorrow we could start seeing people here in the states posting about referrals arriving. If not, then they haven't arrived yet.
It bugs me just a bit to think that if our agency actually got the referral package today...they're not telling us they did. Maybe that makes for a nice surprise tomorrow??? who knows.
Obviously if we get 'the call' tomorrow I'll post something on RQ or on here as soon as I'm able. :)
otherwise, we're in for another long weekend wondering 'when?'.
