the CCAA updated their website last night (Sunday...Monday day in Beijing) to show that this group of referrals just sent matched families with LIDs up to (and including) August 9th, 2005. So the total days in this group was 7/23/05 to 8/9/05. This isn't really a great amount of days considering how little LIDs there supposedly were for that first week of August. But, is was alittle more than that past several months.
Of course, with our LID of 8/10/05 they stopped short of us by one day. Yesh, we are one of "those" families officially. You know...the ones that miss the cut-off by one day. There's always going to be people that miss the cut-off by one day. Always.
And, while we were pretty much disappointed and in alittle bit of shock last night ( I still am trying to get over the fact we were so close...), I suppose that I should take my own advise...following my own words I've shared with others and take comfort in the fact that dammit we're next...no ifs, ands, or buts. 8/10 is the first day to be done in this next group. We can start planning some things...begin making arrangements...let ourselves get "excited" again knowing that we'll finally see photos and info of our daughter this next group and begin the last bit of the journey to finally go and bring her home.
Four more weeks to the next match group. Four more weeks of waiting. Four more weeks to the end of this leg of the trip.
the end is in sight. just not in a couple of days like I had hoped...but in four more weeks.
We're both mentally exhausted from this wait and all it's ups and downs. I just hope these four more weeks go by quick.

So sorry to you and your wife...we missed it by 2 days. The shock is intense, huh? But..once we patch ourselves back up we will be shouting...WE ARE NEXT PEOPLE!!!!! December in China.......sounds pretty good to me! ~LID 8-11-05

I just wanted to say how much Kim was looking forward to meeting you and hitting you up for a drink at the White Swan...she was sorely disappointed that the cut-off date precludes her from meeting the two of you...she has enjoyed the banter and the shared joy from all inlcuded on the RQ site - however I think she will miss you the most. She did not sleep well last night despite sharing a bottle of champange and taking a sleeping pill....too excited is an understatement!
We greet this morning with mixed emotions - Kim's father is terminal with cancer and at home under hospice care. We returned last night from his home in California after watching his life ebb away over the course of a week.
This morning we anticipate the effect of ying/yang - the circle of life as we journey to receive our referral.
Keep Kim in your thought's and prayers.

agh- if only the medical professionals recognized "missed by one day pain" then you could be put in a medical coma and come out on the other side......here's to a fast 4 weeks- but dude....YOU ARE NEXT!!!!!!

So sorry you missed it by one day...I specifically came here to see what your LID was cuz I was thinking about you. We were missed by 5 days so I dont know your ACUTE pain right about now but I do know that the next 3 weeks are going to fly by and that last week is going to be hard but you know YOU ARE NEXT no if's ands or buts and for us it was ok .. not fantastic coz we wanted her NOW but ok I finally felt I could deal and the time will pass and then you will have your baby and all this will disappear. :)

Just wanted to say how sorry I was to see your and your DW missed the cut off, even with the certainty that you are up next. Sounds crazy, but my eyes welled up when you commmented on RQ that you would miss buying drinks/having nachos with folks at the Whilte Swan. You deserve to be there! Maybe you could send them a photo to take with them, or alternatively "an artist's rendition"? There's lots of us out there pulling for you!! My only suggestion is to go *out* to see as many movies as you can, eat at romantic restauraunts where they do not serve mac and cheese, hot dogs or chicken nuggets, enjoy taking showers or peeing by yourselves and sleep in as much as possible. Go out and buy some CDs for the kidlet that won't drive you crazy (our dear M LOVES Bob Marley) since it sounds like you listen to a lot of music and maybe put that as one of your interests/hobbies?
Thinking of you here on the East Coast (and with the same agency as you too.)

I know how you feel, but we are 100% next!!! Nice not to stress about cut-off dates for the next batch of referrals.
I am so sorry you didn't hear this month. Waiting is horrible. My sister is adfopting her second from China. We waited for a long time for TA and finally leave next week. It does come and is wotrh the wait.
Whew, hang loose goose. It is not an iffy, it is a when. I wish I could say something that would help. I do know your time is next. You and your dw are awesome and your daughter is fortunate to have cool parents.
