Here I am on the night of the "observation" (as my wife puts it...not celebration...) of our 1 year anniversary of when our paperwork was officially 'logged-in' at the China Centre of Adoption Affairs.
one year. we should have been home months ago with our babygirl. but as it so happens fate had other plans for all of us adoptive parents to China.
Anyways, we went and had Chinese for dinner...made the woman who owns the restaurant smile and give me the thumbs-up for saying "Xie Xie" at the end of the meal and as we paid...and discussed how we were going to not make the next 6-7 weeks feel like they're going by too slow.
yup. we're getting our referral next month...near the end of September it's 99.9% official...straight from our agency. I say 'near' because that part is really an unknown. We won't know if the CCAA will send out...and in turn we receive...the referrals about the end of the month of Sept (28th/29th) or if it'll be earlier...say around the 22nd or so. But we will finally get the info and pictures of our babygirl then. finally.
as the Green Day song goes..."wake me up, when (or as in our case) September ends." :)

TG -- Ni hao! I can tell from your posts that we have the same agency. We are 7/26 and desperate for info. We on the east coast, so we can't visit the agency in person. Did you get any sense yesterday if 7/26 will be August or September? Also, can you let me know with whom you spoke or guide me at least in the right direction? Sorry, I wanted to PM you, but couldn't figure out how. My email is cmd81766@yahoo.com. I truly appreciate any info you might be able to share with me. We late July LID's are going nuts! Thanks!!!

WOW TG...we have the same agency and the same LID. I am teary eyed at the news you're reporting. So September is for SURE?!?!?!

yes...the child match director told me that she has us down as as September referral. I told her that by all indications, we were thinking we should get our referral in September. She smiled and her words were "That's what I have you as. It would be a huge suprise if they got to you this next group, although you never know with the CCAA...but yes next month." When I started mentioning something about 'well, what if the CCAA decides to take a step-backwards...' She had started shaking her head no and said "I don't see it. I really don't see them doing that at this point. Especially since you're towards the beginning of the month. There's nothing that tells me they'd do that." and believe me I made a few more mentions of being referred next month and there was just nothing from her that hinted at 'possibly' or 'hopefully', etc...it seemed it was pretty much a done deal with her.
I can't tell you how much the both of us just feel relieved...and how we can start to get excited about everything again! :)

yes I do hope that things work out that a bunch of us end up being at the White Swan at the same time. That would be such a neat and special thing. We could have a pic done and put it out there as the Early August RQ Group! :)
and yes it'll all be worth it once we're holding our girls. a friend of mine that was in the May referral group told me just after her referral that all the waiting and frustration and everything just melted away. I'm looking forward to the end of next month and melting away this worry, stress, frustration, and waiting.
