monday monday...

could fill an entire storage room with odes to Mondays. 'i don't like mondays'- the Boomtown Rats.....'manic monday'- the Bangles, etc
This monday found me un-motivated at work and looking towards the end of the week already. Mostly because I'm hoping the CCAA will finally get the referrals out for this month. I think ...hope...feel that they should by the end of the week. TAs got sent pretty quick...so the referrals should be out anytime, right?!

Guess we'll find out soon enough. Meanwhile...here's to moving on to the next day of this week.

here's to humming (or whistling) 'ruby tuesday'.....

Hey TG-

I just read on the CCAI DTC August board that someone with an 8/15 LID just got a call from CCAI telling them to renew their I171 because it is unlikely they will get their referral in October. I've been very relaxed since you let us know about your meeting with CCAI re. Sept referral. Now I'm a bit nervous. Why would they tell you something so probable, then someone else something conflicting? Any thoughts?

Hi. I just read the same thing. I spoke with CCAI last week and they told me with my 8-24 LID that I am on track for an October referral. Conflicting ...

i'm alittle confused by something...is the person with the 8/15 LID saying they were told they wouldn't get a referral in Oct.? I would think that if we as an 8/10 LID got referral in Sept and the CCAA say only got to 8/12 or 8/11 then 8/15 would definitely be in Oct. I can't imagine how 8/15 would not be matched either Sept or Oct. this is very interesting if not confusing...and alittle suprising considering it's CCAI.

I may just contact the person I spoke with just to see what her take is. I'll post it on here...not on RQ though.

Valerie- you spoke with CCAI and they told you that you guys were on track for an Oct referral with and 8/24 LID...and that jives with what I was told. So yeah, this news of the 8/15 LID is conflicting.

My first thought is that there's some miscommunication or misunderstanding. maybe they thought they were going to be traveling in Oct so with whatever expiration date that their I-171H is they're being told they need to re-do it because they Won't be traveling in October??

is this August board the Yahoo! one? I'd like to read it too.

TG and Valerie-

It's the CCAI Aug/Sept yahoo board. The post is titles "hold onto your hats" or something similar. The poster says they are LID 8/15 and their I171 expires Jan. 6. So they said CCAI called and said since an Oct referral is unlikely, they will need to re-file. I'm sorry for repeating myself, just want to be sure I'm clear. I'm going back to double check the post and get back to you.

Thanks for responding.

thanks for that info and if you do double check it...check how it's worded if you can. (maybe be sneaky and copy/paste the main part? ;)

regardless though, it's really hard to believe that's remotely true. I mean our I-171H expires 12/6 and at my meeting at CCAI (with the child match director) I was told that we can send them the forms and stuff so they can hold on to them and if it looked like we would need to re-file, they'd let us know and start the process and get our SW going on our HS update. There wasn't any "you gotta do it now!" type of thing. The CMD and the girl responsible for the 171H redos didn't seem terribly concerned except in that they were going to be watching the timing of this month's referrals (i.e. when they came out) and also the timing of the TAs.

On top of that...I personally find it hard to believe that an 8/15 LID wouldn't get referral until NOvember or later at this point. The CCAA would have to do an average of 7 business days or less starting with this month for that to happen. And if we go by the poll numbers, there's nothing to support that really. Besides, the CMD point blank told me she didn't see anything to indicate that the CCAA would 'take a step backwards' in referrals at this point. There are just too many indications against what this poster was saying I think. Even the DW was like "oh geez, there's no way!" and she's been the level-headed, conservative, sometimes pessimistic one during this wait. LOL

Guess we'll see exactly how far the CCAA gets this time around in a few days...

TG_

I don't feel comfortable copying and pasting the whole thing but here is some of it...

I received the dreaded call about an hour ago from CCAI - "with
matches being the way they are and my I-171H expiring on January 6th I
MUST begin refiling now - in order to keep my existing I-171H I would
have to be matched by October and with an LID of 8/15/05 that does not
appear likely" paraphrasing of course -

So there it is...BTW...WHAT is going on with these referrals today!!

thanks for the 'paraphrased' edition...i assumed you wouldn't feel right about a direct copy/paste and i wouldn't either, but had to just know the main points. it's very interesting...especially coming from CCAI.

makes me feel like I should contact our child match director again now.

especially after today.
I have NO idea what's up with that. it's very surreal. and all I can hope is that there are more dates beyond 7/22. I know that only less than a handful of agencies got referrals today so tomorrow should prove interesting. and believe me I'll be checking the CCAA site tonight to see if they indeed update it.
